The dropping sales of thehave made the officials at  Motors think of the new target audience. Recently, the company has revealed its plans of providing the  to the Mumbai police as their patrolling vehicle. As per the media reports, TATA Motors offered its services to the Mumbai Police by providing a model for testing when approached by the Mumbai Police Commissioner. The senior officials of Mumbai Police have stated only after the testing of the vehicle, the deal will be made.
As explained by the senior officer, the reason behind choosing Nano as the patrolling vehicle is that the car will take lesser parking space and will easily move through the narrow lanes of Mumbai. Tata Nano will be advantageous over the patrolling bikes as storing the weapons and communication equipment in the car will be easier. This step of Mumbai Police to use Tata Nano as their patrolling vehicle is going to be beneficial for both the Tata Motors and the Mumbai Police.

Addressing the media, senior police officers said, “We use motorcycles to do patrolling in narrow lanes in the city. However, Nano car has more than one advantage, while it takes less parking space as compared to other Sedan it can replace bikes as far as doing night patrolling is concerned and weapons can also be stored in the duct of the car. ”
The decision of Mumbai Police to adopt Nano as their official vehicle can be a welcoming relief for the constables who need to be on duty at the unearthly hours. Tata Nano is having many advantages and this decision to use it as their vehicle can act as a fruitful one. With the launch of Nano as the patrolling car of the Mumbai Police, Tata Motors can hope to increase its sales.

NEW DELHI -- Maruti Suzuki India Ltd., India's largest car maker by sales, said Wednesday it will resume production of the A-Star small car and the SX4 hatchback within a week at its factory at Manesar in the northern state of Haryana.

Production of the cars at Manesar was stopped Aug. 29 after Maruti asked 950 regular workers belonging to the unrecognized Maruti Suzuki Employees Union to sign a "good conduct bond" before they could enter the factory. The auto maker said it asked the workers to sign the bond after it discovered "serious and deliberate" quality problems in cars made at the plant.

It also suspended or dismissed 21 employees.

The Suzuki Motor Corp. unit was so far focusing on normalizing production of the Swift hatchback, one of its largest selling models, to cut long waiting period. The company also started producing the Swift at its Gurgaon factory, also in Haryana state, to meet demand.

It is relying on supervisors, engineers and temporary workers to continue production of Swift at Manesar. Maruti also deployed some workers from its Gurgaon factory at Manesar.

"After exceeding the normal production levels for the Swift, the company is planning to start production of the SX4 and A-star models at Manesar plant," Maruti said in a statement.

The company said it hasn't held any fresh talks with the striking workers.

Talks between Maruti's management and the workers had failed late Sunday after the employees stuck to the demand that the company take back their dismissed colleagues, Maruti had said Monday.

Tata New Safari Coming in Late 2011

The first Tata Safari was launched in the late 90s and since then it has been the flagship model on Tata Motors, until lately the Aria was launched in October 2010. The Safari has got two facelifts and engine changes. Tata Motors had even revealed its plans to make a new Safari on the newly developed X2 platform, on which the Aria has been built. However, for the time being the Pimpri-based manufacturer has given the Safari another facelift.
This time, the car gets the 2.2-litre engine from the Aria. The Aria sports the same Safari engine, but a large number of changes have been made to it in the refinement and vibrations department before it got plonked into the crossover. This same refined engine will now come fitted in the facelift Safari. The Safari will get new headlamps, new front grille and new hood. The conventional spare wheel has been moved below and it gets dual exhausts. The interiors have been revamped and it now gets grab door handles.

Safari as a product is a good affordable SUV. We are expecting Tata to further improve the fit and finish of the car.

    Hyundai Santro Xing Review

Hyundai entered the Indian market through the Santro whose main rival at that time was the popular Maruti Suzuki Zen. The company signed a contract with Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan to endorse the Santro and although the radical styling was not accepted by everyone, the car was an instant hit. It is still undergoing number of improvements and face lifts to suit the Indian customers. The main rival of Santro in the current market is Suzuki Wagon R and Maruti Zen Estilo. In 2003, older models were replaced by the second generation Atos Prime as the Santro Xing, which is also very popular in India....

    toyota prius

toyota prius is the leader in the super premium car segment. Along with recent launch of the Teuton car company, the launch of the Benz S-Class will only bolster the numero Uno position in the super luxury car segment.  .

This cost factor has made the Mercedes to consolidate its position month after month and remain as the market leader. To further enhance the position the company has now come up with a basic variant called the Mercedes Benz S300L. The S300L Saloon will break the price barrier with a price of well under INR 80 Lakhs, making it one of the cheapest super luxury saloon in India.

There are no official confirmations on the specifications of the car. The S300L will feature a 3 liter, 228 Bhp-300 Nm engine which has no outright raw power but will more than enough be sufficient for your daily runs. The most important change would be with regard to the engine. This car will have the 5.5 Liter, petrol V8 engine but for the S-class that might be up to 4.7. The car though will be a lot quicker than its predecessors. The engine clocks 429 Bhp at a peak torque of 700 Nm.

If you thought this is all, then the fuel efficiency is just another breath taking feature. Due to the low torque the car is over 20 percent better in terms of mileage. The main secret behind this marvel is its 4.7 Liter engine which has direct injection. This invariably leads to increase in performance as well. All this adds up to a great mileage.

All these developments have been kept secret and so far there have been no official confirmations. From the Dealers enthusiasm and initial reports we are sure the car will not disappoint us. The luxury car battle seems to have come out on the roads with the Mercedes desperately trying to outwit the  cars. So what will the BMW come up with? Whatever the BMW may try, but if Mercedes does come out with the car as we suspect then it will sure take some doing to beat the .

    Yamaha New R15 Version 2.0

    Yamaha New R15 Version 2.0

Yamaha R15 was the first model for the Indian market designed in the true supersport image and featuring a high-level balance of enjoyable running performance on winding roads. Now, Yamaha India has launched 2011 model of Yamaha R15, which is priced at Rs. 1.07 lakhs (ex-showroom New Delhi). The company is promoting it as 'R15 Version 2.0', which resembles to R1, to some extent. Previously, it was expected to be launched in April, then in July, finally New Yamaha R15 version 2.0 is here, it is one of the most awaited bikes of 2011. But the sad part is that New R15 Version 2.0's specifications are exactly the same in comparison to R15 Version 1.0 except the kerb weight which is now 136 kgs. The engine displacement, maximum power and maximum torque figures are same. Yamaha fans would be feeling very disappointed with this because they were waiting for R15 Version 2.0 from 10-12 months and it was expected that power will be increased from 16.8 bhp to 20-22 bhp and torque from 15 nm to 18-19 nm but Yamaha India has kept all the technical specifications intact.
According to Yamaha India while maintaining the proven ease of handling of the R15 version 1.0, the R15 version 2.0 boasts of spruced up looks and better performance in circuit riding. Maruti Suzuki Swift first drive : Swift Shift

The revolutionised the Indian car market. It was a watershed for the industry and from the Swift on car manufacturers started believing that they could launch contemporary cars that commanded a premium, that style was appreciated to such an extent that people were willing to pay for it. And now six years after its launch in India, the Swift becomes one of the few cars that move into their next generation without having reached the bottom of their sales charts and still being one of the leaders of their segments. Only a company like Honda has had the courage to do that repeatedly in the past while most of the others have succumbed to the temptation of selling two generations of the same car simultaneously.

What is of relevance is the performance of teh car and the contributing changes that have been brought in by Maruti Suzuki..
The absence of the right body material and the petrol tank in plastic, go much against the release and will not meet Intl standards is an issue.
The boot space has been reduced; it wouldnt have mattered, if the much announced 60/40 folding of the rear seat had been effected.
Definitely there is a face lift to the interiors, and also in the headlight etc..,but these are all cosmetic.
The audio control on the steering is a good step, but its absence will not affect the efficiency as those in bold above.
a pictorial presentation of the increase in shape/size/rear seat comfort should have been shown, if any.
Ms MS will have to hurry up and carry out an examination of the points mentioned above
What is of relevance is the performance of teh car and the contributing changes that have been brought in by Maruti Suzuki..

Mahindra Scorpio's design has been an eye-catcher among SUVs and has bagged many an award for its styling. Designed completely in-house by Mahindra, it has been one of the major success stories in India.
    Interior
Scorpio's interiors look quite modern with a nicely rounded and organic-looking dashboard with large buttons and knobs. The front seats are pretty comfortable and offer the best lower back support. Air con vents in between the front seats have effective cooling for rear passengers.
    Engine
The m-Hawk engine makes use of 2nd generation Bosch common rail injection system with solenoid injectors. The 4 cylinder, m-Hawk features VGT develops 290 Nm of torque in a wide range of 1600-2800rpm. The VGT will help to eliminate turbo lag. It develops 120bhp and can reach 60kmph from zero in just 5.7 seconds. All this is possible because the light weight mHawk engine, with its all-aluminium cylinder heads is tuned for power.
A decrease in gross weight, coupled with a reduction in base engine friction, ensures that parasitic losses of power are seriously lowered and acceleration gets even better. The sporty bonnet scoop provides a direct passage for air to rush into the mHawk's top-mounted intercooler. The intercooler, in turn, directs this air into passages to optimise engine cooling. The reduced mass of the m-Hawk will also help in improvement of dynamics, the m-Hawk engine is built from aluminium alloy and hence it is 60kg lighter than the current 2.6L CRDe engine.
    Ride and Handling
The Scorpio's chassis is extremely rigid and stiff and you don't get any rattles. The suspension is very supple and in city traffic or at low speeds, it glides over the road, the soft suspension working noiselessly to filter out the bumps. Even on rough or bad road, at least when driven at low speeds, the suspension copes pretty well. The steering and other controls are pretty light, which makes it o easy to drive in town.
    Convenience
There is also tyre pressure monitoring system which tells you the exact air pressure and temperature of each tyre. The sensors located in each tyre monitor pressure and temperature and any unwanted changes in either will immediately flash on the instrument cluster, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable driving experience.
The advanced Intellipark system allows you to keep a look out for anything happening behind you without having to turn your head. Moreover, reversing ultrasonic sensors in the rear help you judge the distance between the vehicle and anything in its way. A sophisticated warning system allows you to judge the location of any obstacle in the rear view mirror.
    Safety
The Mahindra Scorpio comes with advanced safety features that include three rear seatbelts, a collapsible steering column and intrusion beams. The Scorpio also has crash protecting crumple zones, for additional protection of its occupants from the impact of collisions.
    Verdict
The Scorpio with its sturdy looks and powerful performance, the automobile has set a benchmark for the design of SUVs. It has undergone many modifications since its launch in India, in 2002 and now offers all the elements of comfort and ruggedness that are expected from a present-day SUV. The car rules the off-road tracks and is a head turner in the busy urban traffic.

The 2011 Acura RDX is a nimble and comfortable compact SUV that has plenty of high-tech features.  However, complaints about the interior and the engine’s power delivery may make you think twice.
The Acura RDX used to be the obvious choice for  buyers. Fun to drive, stuffed with high-tech features and comfortable around town, the RDX was the go-to car for families who needed something practical, but wanted something upscale.
However, other compact SUVs have caught up to the RDX. And, next to the new competition, the RDX isn’t the slam dunk it once was is says, “While RDX is among the least expensive premium-compact SUVs, its non-linear power delivery, stiff ride, and subpar cabin appointments make it a weak value in this class."

Just know that if the RDX isn’t your first choice, you don’t have to settle. if you will probably have to pay more to get one, there are plenty of other great upscale small SUVs out there.

    Other Luxury SUVs to Consider:

If you’re willing to spend more and want a premium interior, take a look at the  While the Audi Q5 used to lag the RDX when it comes to fuel economy, a new turbocharged four-cylinder engine gets the Q5 better fuel economy than the RDX.  It costs about $2,500 more, but many reviewers say it’s worth it.

Ford Fiesta - What the Auto Press Says

The 2012 Ford Fiesta ranks 2 out of 32 . This ranking is based on our analysis of 27 published reviews and test drives of the Ford Fiesta, and our analysis of reliability and safety data.
The 2012 Ford Fiesta is a well-rounded small car that offers good driving dynamics, a comfortable interior and competitive interior tech for the class, but shoppers who need a lot of cargo space should check the competition first.
The Ford Fiesta hit the market in 2010, and for 2012, reviewers are still impressed with the 2012 Fiesta’s nearly perfect package. They say this  offers cute looks, fun color options, a quality interior, fun driving dynamics, upscale tech and good fuel economy ratings for the class.
That said, there are a few caveats consumers should know. In advertisements, says the Fiesta gets 29/40 mpg city/highway. That’s with the Fiesta’s Super Fuel Economy package that’s optional on SE trims and higher, which means you pay more for good mileage. Second, while the Fiesta offers SYNC, Ford’s infotainment system, it’s constantly criticized for being difficult to use. Finally, even though the Fiesta is available as a hatchback, it is not the most utilitarian five-door in the class. That honor is reserved for the , which has a standard Magic Seat and up to 57.3 cubic feet of cargo space.
Reviewers say it’s hard to dislike the Ford Fiesta, but with the  and transformation into worthwhile competitors with quality interiors and great fuel economy, they also say we’ll have to wait and see if the Fiesta can stay at the top of its class

    2011 Kia Forte

The 2011 Kia Forte ranks 3 out of 3afforatable cars. This ranking is based on our analysis of 29 published reviews and test drives of the Kia Forte, and our analysis of reliability and safety data.
For 2011, the Kia Forte receives a few aesthetic and mechanical changes, but the most noticeable shift is the introduction of the Forte five-door hatchback.says that with these upgrades, the Forte is “good enough to compete against perennial segment stars from Honda and Toyota.”
In 2010, Kia unveiled the all-new Forte as an attempt to redeem itself from thepoor reputation among the automotive press. Kia succeeded, and the  became a reviewer favorite for its ample cargo space, affordable price and strong list of standard features. For 2011, Kia Forte sedan and Koup models remain largely unchanged. Kia, however, has added another model to the Forte lineup: a five-door hatchback.
The five-door hatchback will have the same engines as the sedan and Koup, but adopts a new six-speed automatic or manual transmission that was not available with the 2010 sedan and Koup models. The new transmission should improve fuel economy, but Kia nor the  have released fuel economy ratings.
In addition to a new transmission, the hatchback is shorter in length than the 2010 Kia Forte sedan and Koup, but it’s still longer than the  and  The 2011 Kia Forte hatchback will also have a new front grille, alloy wheels, a center console, paddle shifters, push-button start, a redesigned front bumper and an optional navigation system.

Thus far, no reviewer has commented on how comfortable the five-door hatchback’s rear seat is. Reviewers are silent about cargo capacity too. And though the exact figure is unknown, the five-door hatchback’s cargo hold should measure greater than the 2010 sedan’s whopping 14.7 cubic feet.
The 2011 Kia Forte five-door hatchback will be available this fall, but Kia has not provided a release date for the 2011 Forte sedan and Koup.  Keep checking back as more information is released on Kia’s newest additions

    Toyota Corolla

    Toyota Corolla
If you are planning to buy a used Toyota Corolla, one thing you can be sure of is peace of mind.
is as reliable as it gets. The car, a bestseller in many countries worldwide and a good one in India too, it is so reliable that people rarely sell them therefore finding a second-hand example on sale could prove to be difficult. A good place to find one is  own used car division called UTrust.
Corolla is the car you know you won’t have problems with and it’s proven itself in practically across the globe. The variable valve timing-equipped 1.8-litre 125bhp engine is a reliable unit that doesn’t need much looking into and so is the gearbox. Nevertheless, there are some niggling problems you have to watch out for. The Corolla also had a minor rear brake problem. When releasing the handbrake, a sound would be heard when the pads release the discs. This has been sorted out but it’s advisable to check out the car you are looking at for this problem

When releasing the handbrake, a sound would be heard when the pads release the discs. This has been sorted out but it’s advisable to check out the car you are looking at for this problem.

The car’s suspension was raised for Indian conditions and this usually leads to incorrect wheel alignment geometry, which in turn would wear out unevenly. The brake pads too require attention as they tend to wear out quite fast. So when you are on a test drive of a prospective used Corolla, check if the brakes are spongy or noisy. Also, the main fuse for the cooling fan was of a lower rating than required, and used to blow. This may have been rectifed. Check for accident damage. Look for front apron damage and also at the sealant lines on the strut tower mounts. Step away from the car and look at the roofline, it should not have any folds or kinks. Also open the doors and inspect the B-pillar. Kinks in the metal indicate the car has been crashed and repaired.

Fixing broken headlights or bumpers can turn out to be an expensive affair. Another expensive bit is the fuel pump which costs close to Rs 1,000. See that the car has no problems with this. Corrosion is notan issue on the Corolla. The Corolla’s interior wears quite well with age, although the light shade of the cloth upholstery on the lower model may look scruffy over time

    Mahindra plans compact Verito

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, the country's largest utility vehicle maker, will roll out a sub-four metre compact model of Verito, the rechristened Mahindra Logan, which is expected to attract only 10 per cent excise duty instead of the earlier 22 per cent. Also, it will have a lower price tag.
The car is expected to be launched in six to eight months said Arun Malhotra, senior vice-president (sales and customer care).
In April 2010, M&M bought out Renault's 49 per cent equity stake in Mahindra Renault Private Ltd, renamed Logan as Verito and released it in the market with the new badging and minor facelifts a year later.

The four-metre sedan, priced at Rs 5.6-6.7 lakh for the diesel version and Rs 4.5-5.4 lakh for petrol, reported poor sales of only 2,000 units last year, while sales went up to touch 5,000 units for this April-July.
